Adventure
Lantern Hollow
★★★★★ 4.7
Lantern Hollow is a gentle adventure that trusts you to notice things. You wander a hand-drawn village, talk to its oddball residents, and piece together what happened to the lanterns that keep going dark. No timers, no fail states, just exploration.
The art and sound do heavy lifting here. We played most of it with headphones in and it genuinely pulled us into its mood. Puzzles are logical and tied to the story rather than tacked on.
It's short, maybe five hours, but it's the kind of short that lingers. Easily one of our favourites this year.
