Ashfall Wardens
★★★★★ 4.6
Ashfall Wardens is the kind of RPG that actually respects a phone screen. Combat is turn-based and readable, with clear icons and a timeline you can plan around. The writing carries it though, your wardens bicker, grow, and occasionally make choices you'll regret two chapters later.
We sank a weekend into it. The party-building has real depth, with each warden leaning into a role you can reshape through gear and skill trees. Boss fights demand that you actually read enemy patterns rather than mash attack.
Our only gripe is the slow opening hour, but push past it and the frontier opens up beautifully.
What we liked
- Genuinely good character writing
- Readable turn-based combat
- Deep but approachable skill trees
